Q: How much courage does it take for a family that has experienced the pain of neglect to embark on a new journey of childbirth?
Answer: This is an extremely heavy and courageous decision. For any family that has experienced the passing of a child, the emptiness and pain in their heart are indescribable. However, the desire for the continuation of life and the integrity of their home often become the driving force for them to bravely move forward. We have come into contact with such a family, Mr. Li and Ms. Wang. Their only child passed away in a sudden illness, and that year, the child had just turned twenty years old. After two years of silence, they walked into our Tulip International Reproductive Center with endless longing for their child, hoping to find a glimmer of light.
Q: What is the first step when they make up their mind? How was your experience in Kyrgyzstan?
Answer: The first step is to establish trust and conduct a comprehensive medical evaluation. When Mr. Li and Ms. Wang arrived in Kyrgyzstan, our private car and medical translator were already waiting at the airport. At Tulip Hospital, it's not just the cold medical equipment that receives them, but our team of reproductive experts. The first thing the experts did was a long communication, listening to their stories and concerns, and explaining in detail the feasibility of modern assisted reproductive technology from a medical perspective. The doctor told them, "We cannot replace what has passed away, but science can help us continue love and hope
Q: What is the specific medical process? What do both parents need to go through?
Answer: The entire process revolves around in vitro fertilization (IVF) technology, with clear step requirements for both parents.
For Ms. Wang (expectant mother): Due to age, ovarian function has declined and requires controlled ovulation induction. Simply put, it is to promote the synchronous development and maturation of multiple follicles in the ovary by injecting gonadotropin drugs. During this period, doctors will adjust medication plans in real-time through B-ultrasound and monitoring of blood hormone levels. When the time is ripe, egg retrieval surgery will be performed. This is a minimally invasive surgery performed under sedation and anesthesia, the entire process takes about 15-20 minutes and feels comfortable.
For Mr. Li (to be father): On the same day as the woman's egg retrieval, the man needs to obtain semen through masturbation. The laboratory will optimize the semen and select the sperm with normal morphology and the strongest vitality for subsequent in vitro fertilization.
These eggs and sperm are combined and cultured into embryos in the embryo laboratory of the Tulip International Reproductive Center. Subsequently, healthy embryos will be transferred into the uterus of assisted reproductive mothers who have undergone strict screening and physical conditioning, waiting for implantation and development.
Q: After completing egg and sperm retrieval and returning to their home country, how do they know about the subsequent progress?
Answer: This is precisely the core advantage of our full process self operated management system. Mr. Li and Ms. Wang did not enter an information black hole after returning to China. Our exclusive medical butler will become a bridge between them and Kyrgyzstan. Starting from the 12th day after embryo transfer, we will synchronize key node information through the following methods:
Pregnancy test confirmation: Send the HCG blood test report of the assisting mother to confirm whether the pregnancy is successful.
B-ultrasound examination: In early pregnancy, the position and quantity of the gestational sac are confirmed by B-ultrasound, and B-ultrasound photos are sent.
Fetal heart rate confirmation: The most crucial step is to monitor the original heartbeat, also known as the "fetal heart rate," through ultrasound around 6-7 weeks of pregnancy. We will share the B-ultrasound video with fetal heartbeat to expectant parents as soon as possible.
Q: What was the most memorable moment for you?
Answer: It was the moment when they first "saw" their heartbeat. That day, the medical butler sent a ten second B-ultrasound video to Mr. Li. He clicked on the video, and in the picture, there was a faint light point flickering firmly and rhythmically inside the small gestational sac. He looked silently for a long time, then handed his phone to his wife. Ms. Wang was stunned when she saw the flickering light, and then tears uncontrollably flowed down her face. She said that in the past two years, the whole world has been gray, and it wasn't until she saw that light that she felt the world regain its color. That faint flicker was the most primitive and powerful signal of life, crossing time differences and geographical distances, precisely soothing their broken hearts.
Question: What does the arrival of this new life mean for this family?
Answer: This is not simply a "replacement", but a continuation of life and the flow of love. It means that this home has regained laughter and hope, and the days ahead have a new direction. Mr. Li said that they would tell this child that he had a very brave and kind brother, and his brother's love would always protect him. For this family, the arrival of a new life is to transform the heavy longing of the past into a warm protection for the future. At the Tulip International Reproductive Center, we have had the privilege of witnessing many stories where science and love intertwine, allowing shattered hopes to be renewed.
